NGAGE HELP! about card reader and copying files

7 replies · 3,517 views · Started 08 January 2005

hi, I am a new ngage user.

i've got a card reader, a 256 mb mmc card. but i dont have the usb cable.

I have read a lot on fexplorer, applications, but am so confused.

Should i install the fexplorer first? How can i install it to my ngage. I've got it on my pc.

First i think, i should copy the fexplorer file to the mmc card, then put the mmc card in the ngage. is that right? then what's next?

Please help me step by step?

And, how do i send mp3 from pc to MMC using card reader?

AM really in a mess, well 1st time using symbians! :frown:

CHEERS 😊

put fexplorer into the root of your memory card. Load up your n-gage goto TOOLS>MANAGER and you will see the app there. Install it and away you go 😊

put your mp3s into Sounds>Digital

but im pretty sure you can put mp3s anywhere for the n-gage music player to pick up songs.

which one is better usb cable or card reader?

usb cable is probably better as you wont have to keep taking the card out. Cheapest place for the cable will probably be ebay

cheers mate, am sure this will help!

should i send mp3 files first or install the fexplorer?

my fexplorer is known as .sis, can i just copy it directly to the mmc card using the usb?

.sis, strange file name! isn't?

cheers

not that strange, all symbian files are called .sis

It doesnt matter if you install fexplorer first or transfer MP3. Place the .sis into the memory card (i always do root).
