mp3 questions

Hi

I was going to buy an mp3 player but could do with a new phone so I thought I'd look at an mp3 capable phone. The mp3 playback is really important so I'd be grateful if someone could answer my questions:

1) Does it playback in stereo via plug in earphones or do you have to use handsfree kit? I have heard some phones only playback in mono and via handsfree. :con?

2) Can it play variable bitrate mp3s ok?

3) All my albums have a folder and a corresponding m3u playlist file. Could I just copy the folders across to the MMC and the phone will recognise the m3u file / play all mp3s in the folder, or is there a certain way you have to copy the files to the MMC and create a playlist from the phone in order to play an album?

Thanks
Guy

Some answers:

1) The handset comes with stereo headphones, and the music plays in stereo through them. But, you cant plug in just any old headphones. It has to be the handsfree headphones that come with the handset.

2) It plays Variable bitrate MP3 files with no problem.

3) The player does not use plain M3U files. It only works correctly with M3U files created by the player.

Hope this helps!

today i had another bad connection experience due to mp3.

The thing is, when i play mp3, i can not receive calls period. When i close down mp3, i receive messages that i missed calls from my network operator. Bu they only come after a while after shutting down the mp3.

But even after all that time, the connection stays low. I had a call today and the person said he couldn't hear me very well. after i shut down phone and rebooted, connection was perfect again.

this means that the mp3 keeps something going on the phone making it bad for networks. I would rather this gets priority to fix. My phone isn't faulty, many have had these problems... :frown:

Thanks for the response. Are you sure you can't plug headphones in as it has a normal 2.5 phono socket doesn't it? I have also since read that people have supposedly been plugging a 3.5 adapter in to use large headphones...? :con?

Thanks

You can use any headphones you want aslong as you buy a 2.5mm to 3.5mm headphone adaptor 😊

omegax can u gimme a link where i can get that kind of an adaptor?? i bought one and it doesnt work that well, if i stick the adaptor all the way in i only get sound in one year, if i pull it out just alil then i get stereo sound, but if i move my phone then the sound gets messed up again

At the moment thats the only way to do it, its all down to the amount of contacts (those black stripes on the headphones). Handsfree sets have 3, for sound and voice, but normal headphones only have 2, thats why you have to pull it out slightly. On mine it works fine as long as i dont get too rough with it.

Actually the first one will possibly work just fine. The 2.5mm jack has the 3 contacts, and i assume the 3.5mm headphone adaptor only has the 2 (which you want) since its stated as being Stereo. Wish i saw that one before the one i bought lol

I have the one from Expansys, and can confirm it works. But it has no volume control, so the sound is quite loud (too loud, really). The phone's own volume control doesn't work on headset output, which is why Sendo's headset has a volume slider.
