how to transfer .app files to phone

I have nokia 7310 with PC Suite and a DUK-5 (?, im not sure about the name its a cable with usb connection to the computer)

how can i transfer .app files to my phone?

and .avi files, (or any mpeg file so i can see movies, thanks)

I hate to do this but read the manual or do a search here. No need to be *that*lazy lol.
