Missing Panes

I've just lost all my panes except the Now! pane.

I suddenly noticed all the other panes have disappeared. I haven't had this problem before. If I choose Options->Pane Sttings->Pane Order it only shows one (Now!) pane. It could have happened when I selected the Watermelon Theme but it might have been before this.

Has anyone else had this problem? Is there a solution other than reformatting the phone?

To fix this, without a FULL reset of the handset, you need to delete the Now! screen pane settings file. You will need a file browser on the handset (such as Handyfile or FExplorer), and should backup the handset first (to memory card), just in case (!).

Browse to: C:\System\Apps\Now
Remove the file: Panesettings.ini (press <C> key then YES)

Next, REMOVE THE BATTERY. Do not exit the program, or return to the Now screen, as it then will see the file is gone, and recreate it, with the data it has in memory, that is obviously still wrong.

When it powers back on, it will recreate the file from scratch. This will lose any Now! specific settings you have altered (different background image, new panes, pane order, etc), but the actual main phone data will still be OK (calendar events, messages, etc).

Not ideal, but better than a full reformat.

Yes that worked. Thanks everyone, esp Kev. I agree it's not ideal but at least I didn't have to reformat the phone.

Looking forward to the Vodafone fw update!
