I've tried it one thousand times:
Turn off the phone, press green call button, * and 3, switch it on, wait... and nothing happens!!!! It turns on as usual...
My phone keeps restarting two-three times a week by itself... and I seriously think that it needs a full format.
Am I doing anything wrong?
By the way, I'm on O2 at the UK, if that's of any help.
You can use the other way to format i.e #7370#
But please make the backup in MMC or in P.C. In case you lost some setting etc u may have a provision.
I tried to my nokia 7610 for 3 time already. U switch off first, then press 3 combination, green button , * and 3 together at the same time. And do not release the button and switch on ur phone. After 2 or 3 second, u will screen the formatting.

Is the 3-key-combination format the same one than the #7370#?

this is just a normal reset for your phone by this it will bring back your orginal setings of your phone but want erase stuff that you have in your rs-mmc but it will erase saved phone setings such as pictures , music etc try this or take off your sim card and try the method you did before (green , * & 3) try this.
this code is missing something and it is *#7370# this is the right code for it .
do the holding thing with the green key and everything but keep holding it for about 10 secs after you turned the phone on i plate the phone with the on button facing me so i use my teeth to turn the power thus still holding all the buttons down do not release until the message pops up on the screen!!!
