Hi Guys,
I've just got a 7710 and was wondering if I'm experiencing a problem. The phone doesn't seem to be able to register a full-charge even after 9 hours of charging. I would like to know if other 7710 users experienced this.
Hope to hear from you guys.
My 7710 has had its share of problems (read other thread) but not the battery problem you're facing. It finished charging in about 2 hours.

Your bar stop scrolling after 2 hours?
Everything appears to be ok for me except for this battery thingie.
People with a 9500 do have the same problem too!
But after a few hours you can be sure that it IS fully charged
I was having the same problem but after 16 Hrs i saw Battery Full.
Removing the battery just before a charge will improve accuracy of the battery metre.
Vikcy - congrats on your new 7710!
Thanks Jah.
I will Try it.

Hehe! Yeah... My phone can register a full charge now 😊
*Hugs*
not sure if mine is a problem or not, but my battery meter would drop within 24-36 hours of standby. I get about 2-3 phone calls a day which lasts no longer than 5 mins each. I use it as FM radio for about 1 hour and 20 mins for MP3 daily. Is this normal? I think it's faulty charging. I did charge it up earlier to full then played with contacts for about 15 minutes and shut it off, then removed the battery as mentioned from above from one of the users. I put it back to charge it's charging for the past 10 minutes now. Prob it false charges and auto shuts itself ?
Thanks for any input.
PS I doubt it can go standby for 7-12 or whatever days they claimed.
@c4Lvin
I reduced screen brightness to 50% (2 bars from 4) and made sure my battery was run down and then fully charged for 8/10/12 hours for three cycles (before charging I remove the battery from the unit). Now after three cycles the battery is performing much better; I am sure I will get 48 hrs standby, 1/2 hrs calls, 1 hr surfing, 20 mins of MP3s (I've not used the visual radio this week!) from the current charge.
JAH, thank you so so much for your process in telling me how to charge the battery. Those are great tips. I'll try to have it drain before charging next time. About surfing the web, what's the rate in your country? I'm in HK using GPRS-Orange and don't know how much is it. I've got on only for about 10-15 mins which is quite slow i think. Slower than 56K modem. Probably more like 28.8 or 14.4, don't know how the EDGE stuff helps. How's yours?
Thanks again buddy

No problem!
In the UK I am using O2. The GPRS is not much more than 20kbps even though it could be as high as 48kbps. The 7710 is not that bad on GPRS, but I tend to use the WAP versions of many sites.
None of our networks in the UK support EDGE (Orange is EDGE capable but does not offer the service) as they have all invested in 3G. I have heard that in some countries that have EDGE, eg India, only video streaming is available and not internet access. I'm not sure why the networks are ingoring people who need broadband data. Again in the UK the first 3G network (called "Three"😉 has never offered data access! Hopefully Vodafone will support the Motorola A1000 in the future, a superb UIQ 3G device.
i have bpl mobile bombay wap service but i am not able to browse wap web sites on 7710. However i am able to browse wap web sites on my 3100. I think bpl guys thing opera is downloading web page (surfing) but i only have subscription to wap. I have tried all settings including setting up proxy but damn this is not ready to work. i think i need seperate wap browser. !?
