3650 as a mobile journal

Hola,

In march, I will be leaving for a 2100+ mile thru-hike of the Appalachian trail, and I will be bringing my nokia 3650 with me. In addition to using the phone for emergency calls and such, I'd also like to use the phone to write, store, and upload my journals. I'm looking pretty hard at the Think Outside stowaway bluetooth keyboard to make the input process faster. My real question is about software (series 60) that will help with the journaling. Basically I'd just like a text editor that can deal with larger files (I doubt any of the entries will be larger than 1000 or so words, but you never know).

Does anyone have an idea of a good application like the one I described above, or will any of the built in applications on the 3650 handle the task?

Thanks,
Wyatt

Hi Wyatt!

I didn't try what I'm recommending here, but it might be worth a closer look :con?. Yellow Computing offers both a text editor (YEdit) and a FTP program (YFTP) for Series 60 devices (Yellow S60). Together with a browser on your S60 device it would be possible to write, test and post HTML pages. Although a blogging software might be more convenient?

I don't know the Applachian trail (never been there), but in the wilderness it might be difficult to get any network reception (and recharge the phone batteries, unless you bring a solar cell or some kind of "windable" battery charger).
