msn for 9500

Agile is "available". It's not yet on their website, but just change the link to AgilemessengerS60.sis for example, to AgilemessengerN9500.sis and you got a fully functional Agile on your 9500 😃 (Since it's freeware anyway and it is from their website directly, I don't think this is against forum rules, but please correct me if I'm wrong)

Agile has been free on all platforms, so why not on the 9500? 😃

Anyway, has anyone who tried it out found out how to change the MSN nickname??? I was unable to find this

Just installed it, works great! It just gave me a warning during the installation process that the application is not meant to be for the 9500, but no problemos so far 😃

Sorry, Delta didn't figure that out, but I only have one MSN identity. You specify your nickname at the beginning before logging on, but it looks to me that you can only have one identity per service. There only is add / remove service. The only service that I can add is ICQ, since I don't use 😊, but I only can remove AIM, MSN or Yahoo. I guess you have to remove your current MSN and add it again with a different identity.
Anybody else with better ideas?

Wish I knew about this BEFORE I paid for IM+. Oh well....

But it does work great. Thanks for the great tip!

I can't specify my nickname while logging in!! It just asks for my username (which is my hotmail address) and password, no nickname. What am I missing??

Sorry for the misunderstading. Nope, it seems that you have to change your nickname on the respective websites. You cannot change the nickname in AgileMessenger.
Was this possible in the Series60 version?

What website are you referring too?

I was wondering about other versions as well. IIRC it WAS possible on the UIQ version, but it has been a while, far from sure about it...

MSN, Yahoo and AIM (on their website, in your profile) or in their respective Windoze applications. It at least works for AIM and MSN (under extras, options, nickname). In Yahoo you cannot change it.

u can change ur nick in agile by adding urself like 'add contact'> '[email protected]' and then rename urself to whatever u want ur nickname to be! thats how i do it on agile and i already posted that along time ago in the 7610 forums.. hope i've helped 😊

I don't see how that makes any difference to how you appear on the recipient's list. You still appear as: "[email protected] {I'm Agile}".

Btw, I cannot believe they've left out the Jabber client. 😡

It does matter to me, since my hotmail-address is not related to my name, so people will probably start thinking "who is that??".

Zainman, I'll have a look at your solution, although I am a bit sceptical. Won't it only change the way I would see the name? Anyway, I'll give it a shot anyway.

Delta, it was zainman's post I was replying to. His tip doesn't appear to make any difference on how you appear on the recipient's list. I'd too like to be able to change my nick.

Ah I see, my mistake Raven. Zainman's solution isn't really a solution indeed unfortunately.

How about Agile for other platforms? Does it work there? I don't want to complain too much (since it's freeware) but if the nickname always remains "[email protected] {I'm Agile}" it is not such a usefull app too me unfortunately. The "I'm Agile" part is not what's disturbing me, just the email address part :frown:

Yeah, it's a bit annoying, but I can live with it. If I recall correctly it works the same on S60 and UIQ as well, unfortunately. Hmm, I'm not quite sure though... I'll check out how the nickname thing works on S60 now.

Thanks. Let me know what you find out. It's not just that other people won't know your name, everytime you're logging in with your PC (after using Agile), you have to change the nickname back to normal again

Hmm, when I first logged on to MSN using Agile on my N-Gage, I appeared as "[email protected] {I'm Agile}" on the recipients list, but when I then logged on to MSN using the desktop client and changed "[email protected] {I'm Agile}" to my usual nick, and re-logged on the MSN using my N-Gage it worked. My recipient could then see my usual nickname...

I hope I made sense there... 🙄 I'll have to investigate more with my 9300 though.

Well, in that case, as soon as the 9500 appears on the Agile website officially, we'll have to give them a mail I guess

i dont get this.. i am using agile on my 7610 and i have NEVER appeared as '[email protected] 'I'm agile' and i change my nick in seconds and i can clearly see that when i am sitting next to my friend who is logged in to agile on his 6600! same with him, never had our nicks as our email addresses! if that would happen with me i would stop using agile! well.. not really but seriously! guyz! all the other recipients see in their msn main windows is a little mobile phone beside my nickname(which i change in seconds 😛) and mobile written like this after the nickname (mobile)
am i using an old version of agile or something?

Sorry Guys, but I cannot download the SW from Agile Site.
Most probably it is taken out ...is it possible to have a copy to my Email Direct..thx
hhammoud

Mmm... since installing 3.30 i cant connect to anything anymore, and if i use wifi not gprs it crashes the phone.
Anyone else have problemes.
Even uninstalled old version and deleted all the file left over. No luck!
