Problem with analogue clock when using themes

10 replies · 2,949 views · Started 16 January 2005

I got bored of the standard Nokia theme so started downloading some others.

What I found was that the mask for the analogue clock (the bit that tells the phone which bits of the analogue clock have to be transparent and let the background show through) from the themes wasn't being used, leaving the clock border looking the same as with the standard themes (square clock). Have a look:

Does this happen on all 6630 software versions? Is there any way of correcting it?

Also, I noticed that the analogue clock on the 6630 has a little date window on the right hand side. Does this have anything to do with it?

its the same on my 6630

Which theme is that? Could you possibly provide a link as some sites have different versions of the same theme?

And what firmware version is your 6630 running?

Does the frost theme have a round or square clock? All the pre-installed themes work fine on my phone, as they all have square clocks. Mine is T-Mobile branded, so doesn't have the frost theme.

P.S. Have you got your Pretec RS-MMC yet?

Its a mix between WinMediaCenter Edition, Frost and Crystalised and you wont find it to download as I was focred to make it myself due to no edit feature on 6630

Any chance of sending us the theme?

Would like to unpack it and see what's different between it and the themes which don't render the clock correctly.

The reason is, that the standard clock of the 6630 theme is different from the one used in the older series60 phones. The old standard theme used a round clock. Most themers don't seem to change the masks in their own themes, so the standard mask is used. In this case a round one. So they are lucky, that their clock is shown correctly. But in the 6630 the standard mask is a rounded rectangle and this mask is used as a standard. So themes that shown this error are not made thoroughly and should be adjuste by their creators. If made correctly, theme will look like they should.

Nope - they never sent it, I got an e-mail saying that there was an error and they do not work on 6630.
The full reply is on the dv-rs-mmc thread..

Nice one, cheers for clearing that up 😉
