Try the J2ME midelt VIRC, works fine for me.

Doesn't really list an awful lot of the reasons for the decision, having tried all three applications out previously I came to the conclusion that WLirc is the better client. Especially seeing as on the 9500 the footprint size of the file isn't really important.
