Problem with analogue clock when using themes with 6630

I got bored of the standard Nokia theme on my 6630 so started downloading some others.

What I found was that the transparency mask for the analogue clock from the themes wasn't being used, leaving the clock border looking the same as with the standard themes (square clock). Have a look:

What I think is happening is that the phone is applying both the clock mask that comes with the theme AND the default square clock mask that's pre-loaded on the phone.

Does this happen on all 6630 software versions? Is there any way of correcting it?

Also, I noticed that the analogue clock on the 6630 has a little date window on the right hand side. Does this have anything to do with it?

This is a new one,

What is probally happening is the themes you have downloaded have been created on an old version of theme studio,1.1 or earlier.
Although the clock images and masks (5 in total) are the same for all versions, the 6630 supports soft masks in other areas that were not available in 6600/7610.

Try downloading a theme that you know was created with the new version (recently uploaded) and see if its the same?

Is the digital clock ok,and is it the same when switching from digital back to analogue (refresh)?

Yep, the digital clock is fine (with soft masked edges being rendered correctly), and I've tried setting the clock between analogue and digital, restarting the phone, re-instaling the themes etc.

Apparently the analogue clock is rendered like this on all 6630s.

As for clock soft masks and older versions of Theme Studio, I'm not too sure about that. Reason being, take a look at how the clock is rendered in the first screenshot on the left in my post above. The outer edge of the clock face protrudes from beyond the black square border, and appears to be masked correctly (edges are anti-aliased).

This leads me to believe that the masks in the theme are applied ALONG WITH the default square clock mask that is used with the standard 6630 themes.

Also, what is up with the little date window on the analogue clock? Has this got something to do with it?

Yeah,i see what you mean,

And as i said, the clock images and masks are the same 5 in all versions of TS,so it must be as you say,the default 6630 masks being applied with the masks from the theme.

Its a strange one,try asking the question at Dakku Studios and see if dakku can give you an answer to this,he's only just got his 6630 but has reported the wallpaper bug so may be willing to look into this one.

Godd luck 😊
