I tried everything in this forum. --- even changing the registry.
Appreciate help from anyone who was able to make their MSI Bluetooth USB adapter work with winXP.
Please email me at <[email protected]> what steps you did or configurations you made to make it work.
I have been only able to use it with Dial Up networking. It refuses to connect to 7650 PC Suite.
What software versions are you using?, any special instructions?
Please HELP!!!!! 😞
Thanks in advance!!!!!!!!
What is thy error msg? Can not connect to port0 ?
It's works fine with my XP pro... Did you have another external device sharing the same ports?

1.) I get either of these two errors: "The remote device shut down connection" or "Error in connection port0"
2.) No other external devices sharing same port.
I have tried everything in the forum but to no avail......
I don't think it's my phone because it works fine inpairing and dial-up networking. I also don't think it's the MSI BT Dongle, cuz it works fine with my T68i.
Appreciate any help. Did you do anything out of the ordinary when you installed it in you PC?
** by the way, everything works fine via IR. it's just via BT that i'm having difficulty.
Sounds similar to my problem. I use Win2k though.
I can pair the 7650 with it without problems, and it all appears to work, but whenever I try to actualy connect the Bluetooth serial port it tells me the phone closed the connection.
When I try and send a a file from the phones 'Send via Bluetooth' option it just says sending failed -(
I have not worked out why yet.
Its strange because pairing works, the PC finds the phone, and it asks for the password in the right places, and sets up the paired device, and I can configure the phone to auto accept the PC, but no connections actualy work.
If anybody has any ideas we would love to hear them.
What and how many port have you checked in the mrouter?
In which port is the BT dongle installed? (Usually the one port that does not allow you to check)
Nothing wrong with thy MSI BT Dongle. I have problem with my Win2K pro but not on my WinXp pro. Reason is i have too many crap installed on my win2k and i have the same error with you. Why not try on a freshly installed winXP and try again.
No i did not do anything out of the ordinary when i installed it in my PC

I'm suffering from the same problem as you guys. I'm on a relatively new install of XP and althought the BT dongle is installed I just cant get the pc to connect to the phone as a serial port. Same 'phone closed the connection' message cry
After lots of attempts with mRouter I can get nokia suite to connect, but lord knows just what combination of random settings and frustrated clicking made it work.
Connecting to the internet through the BT and phone works like a dream. I just wish I could send files from the phone to the pc.
[I gave up trying to get it to work at all in win2k!]
ps. If the BT WinAmp remote 'Bemused' by Ashley Montanaro works (I'll try it as soon as I get home), the man is my hero
