Hello, I've had sony p800 for over a year now and I cant figure out how to install jar files. Ive been trying to move them to my phone but it doesn't do anything.
I've been looking the info for about ten times within a year by google and from these forums but never found any. This place is a mess i get totally lost when i enter here lol 😛. I wonder how everyone knows how to install them since you cant find any instructions anywhere :P!
my bad this should probably be in the faq section buuut this site is like a labyrinth to me and i have used different forums for over 5 years.

To be honest, I have never tried installing a .jar on my P900 ... but, I'm guessing it's done in one of two ways:
1. You must install it via cable (which doesn't make much sense); or
2. The .jar itself must be packaged inside of a .SIS file ... (Symbian Install File) ... I'm not sure if you can just drop a .jar into a Symbian phone and play ... if you can, then revert back to option 1....

i am also p800 user and ur problem have simple solution
do u have p800 application pack cd if u installed it dont worry and not first install and after that go to progammes in >> sony in >>install softwear and brows that what jar files u want install click it it simply installs

I'm not sure if it works with a P800 but on my P910 I just beam them over and the OS will only attempt to install them...
It doesn't work everytime UIQ seems to have a very specific idea on what it considers a manifest file...
I have jCards a pjava database that would be great if only I could get UIQ to install it
