thinking strongly about buying webviewer 4 the 7650....can you browse the net just like my 9210 or just (CRAP) sorry, cwap..sorry WAP!!!!
can you access the full net with webviewer???
Yes you can browse the Net, there will be some pages that you cannot view (Like hotmail) due to the page type.
You can view this forum though 😃
Using WebViewer, you could view normal html pages, but i guess that you cannot view frames, and access protocol other then http.
Any folks out there, do correct me if i'm wrong. 😊
Actually u can view frames. When viewing a "framed" html WebViewer will ask you which frame you want to view.
Huh lots a "view"'s in there 😊
actually webviewer cannot access hotmail because the 7650 does not support full http protocols.. so you cannot loggin any http web sites but you can view it ... that why its called webviewer ... it a very nice tools for you to browse the internet instantly when you have gprs access... but for better option wait for opera browser and support of http protocol from nokia 😃 😃
is there a symbian version of webviewer instead of a midlet version... i don't like it in midlet version... if there isn't a symbian version coming i would more likely to purchase the webveiwer in the midlet version...
problem with opera is, is it's gonna be about 1.5mb which is nearly half our memory! i have other things to do on my phone than surf the net, webviewer weighs in at a svelte 46kb, i'll stick to that and use my computer to surf properly.

Hit the nail right on the head there!, at the end of the day 7650 isn't good for browsing the web, the screen isn't wide enough to display the pages, and the connection is annoyingly slow, the new webviewer is a good program though if you want to just check up on something, but for long periods it isn't a very practical solution.
Hm. It wouldn't be bad if they'd rotate it for 90 degrees. It would be much wider thus easyer to view.
Hello I have been visiting this forum for a few days now to get some info on my new phone and I must say it's great !
I have sent the guys from Opera an email to ask when their browser with smart screen rendering will be available for the Nokia 7650 this is the answer I got from them :
Unfortunately though, there will not be a version of Opera available for the
7650. There is not enough memory for the browser to install and run
efficiently (RAM). It's enough for demo purposes, but not for daily use.
The only way to get Opera on a 7650 is to ask Nokia to include the browser
pre-installed. If you are a large customer, this is worth a try and we would
be happy to deliver.
Otherwise, you will have to wait for Series 60 based devices with more
and/or expandable memory. One example is the 3650 which is scheduled by
Nokia for Q1 next year.

I thinks this sucks !! guess we have to do it with webviewer

yeah.. it should be preinstalled anyway... well.. maybe there will be other browsers available soon. maybe webviewer will get better in future versions. we'll have to settle with that.
with webviewer under settings what does "Identify as MSIE" mean... does anyone know rough when loading a html page up how many kilobytes each pages is...
Identify as MSIE mean Identify as Microsoft Internet Explorer
This option is because some sites will not work properley unless you use MSIE, Webviewer "tricks" the site into thinking that you are viewing it from MSIE so you can view it. 😃
