Hi there,
I have a Nokia 9210 and can receive emails fine using a free internet access (fast.co.uk) but I can send emails. I can send to my own account but not to anyone else. Does anyone know how I can resolve this. It is driving me mad. I have a personal email which comes with my domain name so I don't have an ISP as it were. I can connect to it on a computer using any connection. So I just don't understand why it is not working. I have read somer other threads with people with the same problem and tried to resolve using their solutions, but nothing has worked. Can anyone help???
Many thanks.
Ask your mobile operator (call their customer care/service or look on their web site) what their outgoing SMTP server name or IP address is. Use that, instead of the fast.co.uk SMTP server.
I have tried changing the smtp server to the orange smpt (smtp.orange.net) and still using the fast.co.uk connection but this does not work. I have also tried using the Orange WAP dial to connect and send using Orange SMTP, but this doesn't work. Orange customer support are useless and say that they do not support the 9210. My server settings are
Incoming: mail.mydomain.co.uk
Outgoing: mail.mydomain.co.uk
I have tried changing the Outgoing to smtp.orange.net but it says there are problems and then it times out when using Orange WAP (Orange ResetCSD-GCSD) connection.
I think you can only connect to smtp.orange.net if you have Orange GPRS, which is no good on the 9210. Is this correct?
Many thanks.
Could be. I didn't pay enough attention and missed the fact that you're using a 9210 with no GPRS. In that case, you should simply use the ISP's direct dial-up number and the ISP's outgoing SMTP server.
Hi icequeen, I just wonder ... if your problem has solve when you set ISP direct dial-up number and ISP's outgoing SMTP server?
