The ludicrous M$-fansite msmobiles.com (you should read some of their stuff, just to have a good laugh, especially if it's about Nokia) have put up a piece about... AAS.
Well basically it's about Rafe and Ewan. Awaiting your replys Rafe and Ewan 😉

Msmobiles about.... AAS
TBH for those who have seen Bo Selecta! the guy running the MS Mobiles site reminds me of Avid Merrion. For those who don't know Avid Merrion is a fictional character who is obsessed with celebritys so much he has the winner of the first series of UK Big Brother chained up in a cupboard, and is portrayed stalking celebrities and masterbating over them.
<Warning the next bit is crass>
Now cast your mind to MS Mobiles, and you can imagine the guy sat there looking through pictures, "Oh it's the Ewan and the Rafe from the AllAboutSymbian, oh oh oh, I can't help myself, I love them sooo much, I must stalk them and their sites! They are so popular and handsome and they make me do a sex wee! I must write about them some more what can I make up. Oh oh they write about the Microsoft, I love the Bill Gates, he makes me do a sex wee, I can pretend that they love the Bill too and that we can all sit together playing with each other watching videos of Bill showing off his Microsoft products!!!!!!"
<End of crass bit>
Well that's the impression I get of the guy be it right or wrong.
An artists impression of the owner at MS Mobiles.com
My personal take on this is that the editor of msmobiles is entitled to post what he likes (freedom of speech etc.), but anyone that reads it will clearly see that it is a ludicrous piece with no basis in reality. Its not the frst time and I'm sure it won't be the last time.
As far as All About Mobiles go it is a group blog. It is intended to be about mobile issues in general with an emphasis on mobile phones. The observant will notice authors from AAS and other tech sites.
Personally I am interested in mobile technology and the mobile industry outside the 'Symbian sector'. I would assume I share this in common with the majority of visitors to this site. I hope All About Mobiles will give me an opportunity to write about mobile themes in general.
More info in due course. If anyone is interested in writing for AAS or AAM please do get in touch.
"Rafe Blandford previously already has been accepting trips to Mobius conference where Microsoft was paying for travel, lodging and where Microsoft was giving to Rafe gifts for free, such as Microsoft powered cell phones and PDAs."
is this true?
"The new website is AllAboutMobiles.com and it is owned by the same people who own AllAboutsymbian.com - Rafe Blandford and Ewan Spence !"
is this also true?
Both are indeed true. M$ did pay for Rafe to go over to the mobius conference thing, lets face it no-one turns down a free jolly to the land of sun and silicon, even if it is to listen to gateses goons drone on.
As for AAM, thats obviously us lot, anyone who has ever read Your Symbian would recognise my ramblings there.
Yes I've been to 3 Mobius events organised by Microsoft. Indeed I think I;ve posted here or on my blog about it in the past. Microsoft do pay for the travel expenses and accomodation and they invite various speakers along who often give those attending various things (e.g. Orange were invited this year and gave everyone a C500).
All About Mobiles as I mentioned above is a group effort. It is not 'owned' by myself or Ewan although I am providing the hosting and technical support (which includes the All About branding).
Ewan is doing a lot of the organising behind it, but then so are some others.
Well, we're not the only one who find the article a lot of BS. Check the 18 replies given so far: http://www.msmobiles.com/f/viewtopic.php?t=8604
Even our "friends" from SymbianOne have replied "defending" AAS (well, defending, just stating how ridiculous this article is).
I especially like the part where he says "there's no such thing as bad publicity". Well, if that's true, than HE has promoted Nokia and Symbian alot already 😉
