Talked with an AT&T rep and they had some seious problems with the P800 on the AT&T network. They were standing right in front of a tower, and coudl not get it to connect to GPRS at all....

The SE techs that this guy spoke to said it might be a while longer before it is actually released, It is having pronlems that similiar nokia stylus based phones have had running symbian, so the problems are with symbian and the Stylus, not with the phone .....

There is simply not enought information here to make a judgement call. The fact that the GPRS was not working on the P800 and the rumored Nokia pen communicator does not necessarily point to problems with the Symbian OS. After all GPRS runs quite happily on the 7650 - OK so its v6.1 not V7.0, but there is no reason to believe that the both the P800 and Nokia are on V7.0.

It is equally plausable that the problem could be with:

1) interoperability with the AT&T network - do all other GPRS phones work quite happily on it?
2) that there is a hardware problem with the chipset as it is possible that both machine use some of the same components
3) an integration problem between hardware and the OS
4) a problem with AT&Ts GPRS transmitter.

And its probably not the same problem on both machines.
