3650 Manager bug or "feature"

Hi Everyone,

(first post so please be gentle)

Had an N-Gage for a while and just got a bargain 3650 for my wife but have been having a problem installing new software. Sadly no manual or CD was included so I cant look there for help but I just assumed the 3650 woulod operate the same as the N-Gage.

The Manager on the 3650 does not recognise any SIS files added to the mmc card - I copied some via my USB card reader to the card and put it in the phone but for some reason the phone found nothing. This is exactly what I've always done with my N-Gage without any problems. I managed to install FExplorer on the 3650 and it found the SIS files and then installed them without any hassle but it is annoying that I have to do that and cant just use the Manager. Is this a feature of the 3650 Manager or does my wife's phone have a problem? Has anyone else experienced this and how can it be fixed (if at all)?

Many thanks in advance,

Neil

Yup this is a limitation in a 3650, or 3660 or some other symbian phones as well (7650 etc) You would have to install a file manager like seleq, or fexplore or profimail to browse over the sis file then install. Theres no problem with your wifes phone. Its just a lil getting used to. 🙄
