Firmware

I am planning to get this phone, but I was wondering if I bought it now will it have Firmware v3.45.111 or will it still have V 2.39.129. Thanks.

It depends on when it was made (how long it has been sitting in a warehouse/store).

If you're in the UK, all Vodafone branded 6630's are v2.xx, all T-Mobile ones are v3.45.111, and most Orange ones are v3.45.110/111.

Not too sure about the O2 stock though, seeing as most places are selling vanilla unbranded 6630's on O2 contracts. From what I've heard they're most likely to be v3.45.11x.

Thanks. I will probably be getting a Vodafone one, I know about all the problems bt they don't bother me too much. Will I be able to get it upgraded there when I buy it or will I be stuck with V2xxx?

Currently the latest 6630 vodafone firmware is v2.39.xxx. Even if you take it to a Nokia service centre, they won't put anything other than vodafone branded firmware on your phone.

Basically, you're stuck until vodafone decide to release a new version of their 6630 firmware, unless you can find an independent phone shop with the latest Nokia Phoenix service software and flash files.
