I have scoured the internet for an application or configuration setting which will permit internet useage through bluetooth from a pc. So far without any luck. There were many threads about this on many websites. In almost all cases, people more knowledgeable than me report that it seems Nokia have disabled the standard serial port profile for incoming connections. I think this means that applications must initiate the serial port profile themselves.
Now I plead with everyone who reads this site, if you know of any new information or of an application that will grant this ability to the 6630, or anything, please post here. The ability to easily download stuff and synchronize stuff directly to your mobile without paying data fees is an important ability for most people.

How do you know what most people want? 😉 This functionality isn't important for me, for example.
It can be important for some people, perhaps even many people, but most people don't download anything or synchronize anything with their phones (smartphone or otherwise).
Most people use their phones just for voice calls and perhaps also SMS.
Of those people that do downloading/synchronizing, not all of them care to do it from their phone through a PC. Most such people just use their PC for it and then transfer the data to their phone, or when they need to do it directly with their phone, using the cellular network is good enough or cheap enough for those occasions, or somebody else pays their phone bills.
Regardless of market analysis, the fact remains that recent Nokia S60 phones do not support the serial port profile natively.
I would be first in line for a solution that enables a serial port connection over Bluetooth on my 6630, and I'm certainly not alone in having a need for it.
i agree. i would greatly apreciate a solution that enables an internet connection on my 6630 using a pc-dsl-connection. this would be very useful, eg for synchronizing an email-account without having to pay gprs-fees.
Reviving this thread...
Does anyone have any news about connecting to a pcs internet using bluetooth?
On my N-gage I can do this...
Can't the same way work on 6630?
For all those looking for a solution, have a look here and offer a hand to xan who's attempting to port GnuBox to the 6630: http://www.symbianos.org/yabbse/index.php?board=2;action=display;threadid=68;start=0

I knew the 6600 supported it had it running but the 6630 is way different, and the only reason i used to use bt internet was to go on msn or irc when i was bored inside rather then sitting in front of the comp hehe :P
