9500 questions (newbie)

First, I do love my 9500. There's just a few things that I can't seem to figure out.

1. Wifi is fine - no problems

2. GPRS is also fine.

3. I haven't been able to make analog data calls - I've set a connection up. I can dial the number manually and hear the modem at the other end, but when I try to access the net with the connection, the D appears on the inside screen for 10 seconds, then a window pops up saying "Problem Connecting - System: Could not connect to the network. Network is currently unreachable"

4. I am having problems sync'ing. The process will hang, whether I am using the USB cable or bluetooth. I do have a huge contacts list (3500 entries) - is that my problem ? I was able to get it to sync once, but now I can't get it to update.

5. Do I assume that voice dialling is not available on the 9500 ? I have the Bluetooth headset, but can't find any info in the manual about how to dial by voice command. This would seem to be a significant omission.

Thanks for any insight you folks can share.

If there's no voice dial function how do you use the phone when you're in the car?

As the 9500 is aimed at business users I presume some of you guys are road warriors.

I have been thinking about moving back from Windows Mobile (C500) to the 9300 to get the qwerty keyboard and Psion PIM apps but no voice dial is a killer!

I always thought voice dialing was a gimmick noone used.

This is probably a settings error rather than a handset problem.

While driving, follow these instructions to dial number on a 9500:

1) Pick up the 9500 from the passenger seat
2) Press the center of the scroll-key followed by * to unlock the keypad (if it was locked)
3) Press down on the scroll-key to bring up the contacts (or press Call button to bring up recently dialed number)
4) Press the call button again to dial the number
5) Start talking!

If it's not in my speed dial, then it's not important enough to risk my life searching for it in the Contacts database while driving. 😃 I either use speed dial or wait till a stop comes up then I fiddle with the phone.
