Theme Editor??

hey guys, im sure i heard someone named Kev here say that when the vodafone firmware release was issued there would also be a theme editor, just wondering if anyones got an eta as to when this will be out, think a load of people would really like it

The theme editor should be out with the next firmware update. No one has any idea when this will be. Maybe in a few months???

I doubt the next firmware is "months away" - I think what Kev meant by not having a set date yet was just to emphasise that this one's going to be a little longer than the 2 / 3 month cycle of the last few...

yeah but the vodafone firmware has now been released (28th Jan), so where's the editor? or did he mean the next one?

The vodafone firmware is release 60D (version 1.98.5.2) which was originally released for some other opperators back in November. The NEXT firmware (which is currrently release 69, but may change) alters the way themes are done, and the theme editor only [now] produces themes for that firmware version, so, once the next firmware is out, the theme editor should follow.

No timescale for the theme editor I'm afraid. 😞 I have seen it, so it DOES exist, and it looks very nice...

I'm not sure why they're delaying it's release, other than the fact that it is not compatible with the current firmware (1.98.5.2) - this is because Sendo re-wrote part of the theming engine in the next firmware release. Maybe once the next firmware is out (and Sendo's own themes have been updated (which I know they already have been, as I've seen them on an X2)) they will release the theme editor to the rest of us.

The only thing I can suggest is keep emailing Sendo about it - if enough people ask for it, they're bound to release it!
