Call and network management
- An improvement has been made to ensure successful call in PSTN originated MT terminated calls when the PSTN network uses SNS (Single Numbering Scheme) in the SETUP message

- JavaScript is included in order to improve browsing
Applications
- Video streaming is resumed after handling call/sms/mms call
- QuickPoint is able to open PPT file
- "Send as" menu item removed in QuickPoint/QuickWord
Languages
- File name and file extension management in File Manager improved in Hebrew language
- Search for voice mailbox numbers improved
- USB connection when using PC Suite has improved
- Ringing tone is played softly when volume is set to maximum and when vibrating alert is set on
- Improved playback of MP3 file and long AMR clip
- Audio level in stereo headset has been increased
- Picture saving in Full VGA quality possible in Camcorder application
- Nokia Content Copier is able to transfer both user files and settings
- Editing text string in wap browser is possible when using Wireless keyboard
- Backup to MMC card and restore from MMC improved
- Support for .ra and .rv file extensions in RealOnePlayer
- Improvements made to texts used in Push to Talk applications
- Operator name list updated
This is the update for the SW changes for 6260 and hopefully its the latest SW out as of now. Got the info from a site. But i guess looking at this update .. nokia aint giving much importance to the camera mode.
By chance will this upgrade also upgrade the DRM security ? cause my phone is being upgraded and will get it by tommorow .. so lets see :S what nokia has to offer.

Visit your nearest Nokia Service Centers for your free firmware upgrades, provided your mobile is still on warranty. Else a small fee should apply

Im from NJ.
well, very easy. just go to nokia website.Then choose your country.Look for customer support tab.There, you can either choose care centre locater or retail store locator.But i think it's the care centre. Find their contact no or address and you're on, 😊

And where in the world is this "NJ" place (is it a country? is it a city/town?)? I'm assuming it means "New Jersey", which is a state in the United States of America, but it may not be clear for everybody who might want to help you ( I'm also pretty sure there are even plenty of US citizens, who wouldn't know what and where NJ is 😉 ).

the FM in 6260 is stereo rite ? so its the hardware that this depends on .. isnt there any software that uses the stereo option in the radio application to play MP3z ??? :con? ... i mean the firmware upgrade states that MP3 playback is improved .. lol i dunt find any difference other than the volume being increased ..

You've got your Nokia 6260 upgraded to the latest firmware? Any other noticable improvements and new features?
well the sound output is quiet high ... mp3 playback is without any hangs or stops .. the only problems seems the when ur listening to mp3z and u get a call .. after the call when the playback resumes the volume is not changable .. i.e the volume stays high unless u give the phone a restart ...
Well the camera seems to hang a bit in video mode .. didnt happen in the past firmware ..
and i guess thats all i found changed till now .. i suggest ppl stick to the old firmware till the new one comes out .. duno y nokia has to make things so complicated :con? ... &^@*&( 😡

That problem has been around since the last firmware. Thanks for your feedback on the new firmware 😃
does the new firmware solve the problem of the phone restarted automatically?
and before flashing the phone if i backup the phone memory into the mmc,does it also make backup of my sms?or just backup the contacts?
The "Memory" app backup to memory card function backs up contacts, settings, messages, calendar appointments, etc.
if i remove my memory card, then have a firmware upgrade, will the same memory card need to be formatted before it works with the phone?

actually yes .. if u dunt format the card b4 the fone is wiped out .. then the possible problem is that u wont be able to use the menu key .. in short ur phone hangs on the main screen .. only receiving and making calls is possible ...
any other views ... ??

Does it mean what I think it means?
That fixed is the bug, which allowed to take only max 480x360 size photos in every other mode but in browser mode?
btw, there are more bugs in v 3.0436.0
When one is listening radio, and a call comes, one pushes the button on the handsfree,the radio is muted and the call is answered. When the call has ended, the radio un-mutes, but now the radio channel is the next one in the list of stored stations.
Also one nice feature would be to somehow able to mute and un-mute the radio just by using HF.
the 3.0448.0 firmware allows portrait VGA quality pictures in camera mode (finally! 😃) but doesnt seem to do anything to the video quality.
getting my phone to restore a backup after the firmware flash was a bloody nightmare. something inside the "settings" part of the backup made the camera crash on the new firmware about 1 sec after it opened. took me about 2 hours to restore my phone back to original state.

Ok tis is newbie types .. sorry if m a lil unaware of a few facts .. please explain ...
What did u mean by portrait VGA pics ?
I have seen the option and the only weird part is that when i flip it to take pics .. the picture is always taken in vertical as in it dosent change positions automatically .. is that what potrait means ? .. and how is this helpful ?
