BL-6C in a 6630?

Hoping I can get a little more battery life out of my 6630 with this battery, has anyone tried it and does it make a difference? The BL-6C is 1070 mAh compared to the BL-5C which is only 850 mAh, thats around 26% better :spy:

My biggest concern is whether it will fit 😱

i think that it will fit... if its an extended capacity battery for 6630 😃 i think, that you are in 3G area, because in GSM i couldnt believe that you stadby time is so small 😃 iam using it in GSM and iam charging once a week 😉

I don't think your using your phone that much, i'm usually making over an hours worth of calls, playing SonicN for over an hour and then some general pissing around and the battery lasts about a day and a half, quite annoying. When I stop playing around with it i'm sure it'll last longer but for 20 25% more battery life isn't bad 😃

hm,interesting 😃 but you forget to speak about the fact,if you use it in GSM,or in 3G network 😃 iam sending SMS and MMS frequently /560 only in my INBOX😃/.calling and using BT headset and my standby time is from 5 to 7 days with nights turned off 😃

I am spending several months in Sweden where my TIM 6630 can only roam to GSM networks and I can't believe how different the battery performance is. On GSM even with intensive usage the battery lasts 3 days! In Italy under UMTS coverage I must charge the phone every night.

I just don't want to think about the amount of radiations I get when the phone is in my pocket connected to the UMTS network.

I've had the phone on GSM for the past week or so, battery seems to be working better now but I do notice it drops 1 or 2 bars over night even when turned off. Maybe i've got a duff battery?

I am on UMTS network and under normal usage was charging twice a day.
I found once I switch my UMTS setting to 'when needed' my battery lasts DRAMATICALLY longer.
So far it has lasted all weekend and I am still on all bars, and it only takes an extra half second to connect than when it was set on 'when avalible'

I don't think my firmware version supports this option. Where should I be looking?

I think he means the packet data connection is set to 'When Needed'

Yep, the BL-6C does fit in the 6630 and works perfectly, and the difference is noticeable. An extra day or so of operation is nothing to sniff at.

I'm not using one in my phone however, as it is slightly larger than the standard BL-5C causing the back cover to stick out ever so slightly.

the bl 6c fits perfect. You have to take a sharp knife and cut off the three little plastic lines. then the bl 6c fits without make your phone larger. 😊 :icon14:

what if battery leaks out? 😮

I think he meant cut the phone cover's plastic.

I've used the bl6c battery in my 6630 for a couple of months now. It fits perfectly with only a very slightly tighter fit than the original battery but there has been no difference in my back cover and there was always extra room in those and in the 6600 covers which were quite lose. And yes, i have gone from 26-30hrs in 3g to several days with heavy 3g use.

Just waiting phones supporting Hot-swap battery.
Then we can carry 2-3 more batteries with us and no problem...
Phone should have a buffer for energy that will make it run for 5 to 10 seconds.
In that time we should be able to swap the battery with a full one...
Good idea, lol 😃

Not rearkky I would rather they put more money into new battery technology and reducung power consumption so we wont need to hot swap batterys.

Init. I want a phone powered by the leftovers of my fry-up.
