Anyone tried to clean the dust under the screen

11 replies · 4,704 views · Started 31 January 2005

One thing that really bothers me are the small particules of dust under the screen specially under direct sun ligth. When i first received the phone 3 months ago i noticed 2 or 3 particules but now there are dozens... I would expect that a 300 Euros phone would not have problems like this.

Has anyone tried to open the front cover to clean the screen?
If so, could you teach me how to?

good question...

thats a big problem for me.... As time goes... dust increases under the cover 😞

Its a pity

it's really easy, just lift up the cover.

the lower part of the phone, below the numbers, there is a slight gap between the carbon plate and the bottom,
you have to put your nails between each corner of that gap and lift it up like that. You will be able to lift the whole cover.
after that, the screen is yours to clean 😉

negative, no need to take the screws, ive done it like that and many have followed.

you should try it. 😉

So do i really have to take the screws off or not?

And how much strength do i need to make to take the front cover off? Im afraid of breaking it.

I can lift a little the botton area of the cover just under the SENDO logo.
But the side area just above the speakers just wont release.

Im really afraid of breaking something. Anyone who manage to open the cover had the same problem or is just me? :frown:

IT seems pretty sturdy to me. If i was you i would loosen the screws and see if the cover starts comming free. If it does then you know you have to unscrew them first.

Its unnecessary to quit the screws of the phone. And..yes.... it seems that you are going to break the cover...but you must lift the cover bit a bit... just moving along the cover. dont try to release it pulling up the area just below the sendo word.

I finally managed to take off the cover and had the chance to clean my extremly dusty screen. 😃

Tkx for all the input.
