N9300 - System: Unable to fund the spescified object.

Hi!

When trying to start the Web-browser, I get a system note:
Unable to find the specified object.

Then I get Program closed:
Program: Web
Reason code: ViewSrv
Reason number: 9

If anyone could point me to the right direction, I would be grateful!

what kind of connection are you using?
Sometimes I have that problem with Hi-Fi when the signal goes short.

I guess you mean Wi-fi... But since he owns a 9300, he can't connect with wifi.

Anyway, does that happen everytime you open the browser? Otherwise I would suggest a (soft/hard) reset and/or a firmware upgrade

Ahh... sorry for the delay. I'v had some trouble with my account. => the new name 😉

Yes this happens every time I try to start the browser. I'v tried resetting the device. No good. For my 9210, Nokia supplied all the app's as .sis, so that I could reinstall them. But I can not find such files for my 9300.

Any help would be appreciated!!! :icon14:

The *.sis files continues to be the install files in Nokia 9500/9300.

Some programs cames with the communicator, so you don't see their *.sis files because they're already installed.

How did you reset the device? It was a total reset or a reboot?

I know this, but Nokia suppled ALL the app's for the 9210. But sadly not for the 9300!

Pulled out the battery!

I don't know if this works with 9300, but you can try to do a "hard reset" of your 9300 like this:

Reboot 9300 with reboot software or take off the battery if you don't have it (well, you should install it - search in www.my-symbian.com).When the Nokia hands are showing, you neet tp press CTRL, SHIFT AND the 'F' key at the same time.

It will restore your 9500 to factory state so make backup of your stuff!

OK! It worked! THANKS !!!! 😃

I'm so TIRED of all the FUZZY instructions that makes the hard reset FAIL!!!
It's hard to understand how ANYONE can succeed with SOME of the instructions...
THIS IS THE CORRECT ONE, I'VE DONE IT a dozen times now to pinpoint EXACTLY what is needed!!

To perform a hard reset, follow this instruction TO THE LETTER:

Restart the device. NOTE: You DO NOT have to remove the battery!! You can
JUST AS WELL use a FREE tool like TaskSpy: http://www.pushl.com/taskspy/
The restart option in TaskSpy is in the menu under "Tools"; Hotkey is Shift+Ctrl+R
(Non-related bug issue in v0.96: do NOT press the Menu key while in Preferences:
TaskSpy crashes and burns; use the ARROW keys in stead!)
NOTE: If you still decide to remove the battery and the battery is out too long,
you must press the power button on the front to start the device.

When the image that says "NOKIA"(NOT the HANDS: that's TOO LATE!!!) comes up,

press AND HOLD Shift+Ctrl+F(don't stress, there's PLENTY of time) and

KEEP HOLDING KEYS(this is the CRUCIAL point) until you FIRST get A BLANK SCREEN, and

KEEP HOLDING KEYS(this is the SECOND crucial point) until it prompts you to confirm the format!
You're welcome.

And BTW, it's "Shift+Ctrl" and NOT "Ctrl+Shift", so you're "shifting" a control character
and not "controlling" a capital letter. But this is just formal: it actually doesn't matter
if you press the Shift before the Ctrl or the Ctrl before the Shift,
as long as you press the character LAST.

PS. All the miserable bastards like me, who have actually TRIED holding down Shift+Ctrl+F
AT THE SAME TIME as they've inserted the battery AND placed the device down WHILE HOLDING
THE KEYS are probably as relieved as I was when they find that THIS IS A WASTE OF TIME.
("stupid Flanders and his stupid instructions..."😉

Good Luck!
