Sorry if this has been mentioned before...
I've been getting the App closed main error message on my 7610. At first I was finding it on screen after leaving my phone unused for a while. I have mine set to lock after an hour, so I would unlock it and find the error already on screen. But just now, I received a text message, read it, returned back to the wallpaper and put my phone down. A couple of minutes later it beeped and the App closed main came up.
I have no additional software installed. The only stuff I have loaded on to the phone is pictures and sound files. I have also tried resetting the phone back to defaults but I'm still getting this.
Could it be a virus? I did go through a period of heavy internet usage recently.
Come on, someone must know about this!
sorry, i don't have a solution to that problem, but i'm also hoping that someone out there knows this.
I get that message too, but it's usually after i close a java application...

Yes, it is mentioned in the forum, but from what I have seen there is no answer on what causes it or how to fix it. As I said, I have not installed any applications (whereas the postees on the other threads had), and I have formatted my phone.
people with newer firmware versions say it occurss less often. i myself fixed it (i have the older firmware) by removing PSILOC apps.. they do all the damage and me and other forum members noted that removing them caused the errors to occur less frequently
