Doom help? 7610

Hey all. I recently bought a nokia 7610 and now im finally getting around to finding some games for it. I am really interested in the doom series so I downloaded doom for my phone. It came it 5 or so different ".sis" files (doom.sis, doomcore1.sis etc) I followed the readme and installed doom.sis and then the rest in the correct order. Then I go into the menu down to the bottom and it has the doom icon, Open it and when I try to start a new game it says "cannot find game data" or something like that. Can anyone help me? Have I downloaded the wrong file? If so can someone point me to the correct one? Thanks!

Finally found it out after hours of searching. The sound doesnt work tho..... It says to go to "wildpalm.co.uk" and download a game that has sound and it should make the doom sound work, however all there games cost. Is there anyway else to get the sound to work or are there any free games they have? CHeers

Yip. Whenever I try to turn the sounds on it tells me to go to wildpalm. In the readme it says "Sound can be enabled by installing one of our other games, which come with the required sound driver." Can anyone post a free game from them with the soud driver in it? Cheers

jeh now i see it to :P i dont have sound either :{ well i'll just go and see if i can download an other version than that from wildpalm 😊

Hmmm now im stuck lol. I think im on the 4th or 3rd level. I just got the rocket gun in that room after going thru that green river. There is a lever that i pressed but the lift went up too fast for me to get on. I have the yellow key card but im not sure where to use it. Any help? Thanks

Hi I am new.. Can u tell me how did you fix the sound error?? I see the same "Data file missing.." :con?

download doom from wildpalm and install it according to the readme file, there is also a MMC patch for the 7610 which u have to install as well, the link to which u will find here on this forum

I already have done that. But i just installed it on the onboard memory i couldnt be bothered muckin round with the patch. As for the sound it still doesnt work even if i do follow the readme.

Don't bother with the long-winded multi sis install. Search around for the RVGPDA version, it's all the .sis files, along with the MMC patch and sound file all in one .sis. The file you want is rvgdoom.zip, rvgdoom.rar or rvgdoom.sis.

And to get sound working, install one of the Wildpalm game demos (for example, Terra Force: http://www.wildpalm.co.uk/TForce7650.html ), they come with the Wildpalm sound server. After installing, you should have a folder called C:\System\libs with a few .dll files called WildSoundApi2.dll etc.

However, while this works for most older phones like the N-Gage, 3650 etc, sound doesn't work on my 6630. Not sure if it works on Symbian 7 devices like your 7610.

As a side note, anyone know anything about using the full level .wad files from Doom/Doom 2 with eDoom? I've found full Doom 1 and 2 .wads that supposedly work on the 9210 version of Doom, but not tried them yet. Although the Series 60 version uses .xwads, so I'm not sure. Anyone experimented?
