Nokia 6600 - LCD Screen lights up randomly for no reason

Ok guys, I am stumped.

For the past week the LCD screen on my Nokia 6600 will randomly light up. The phone can be sitting on my desk and the LCD will turn on for about 5 seconds every minute or two. Nothing pops up onto the screen as if I've received a text message nor does it make a sound. This is really annoying because it's making my battery wear down REALLY FAST.

I've rebooted the phone a dozen times and tried turning off bluetooth but so far I haven't found a solution. I don't want to "format" the phone unless it's a last resort.

I tried calling Nokia tech support and the person I talked to didn't have a clue.

Maybe u dont need to format your phone, u can tray to resret them to factory with this action:
Go to standby, *#7780# (enter your security code at requeste).
This will restore ini files from ROM and keep all user data. Also all aplication will be keeped to.

Also u can tray to delate system.ini file and then restart phone...

Booting in safe mode seems to have fixed the problem. What does *#7780# do? Isnt that a factory reset?

Yeah, untill next normal startup :icon4:
IF that not happened in safe mode mean that u have some application which cose this, and whic load by self during normal startup, so try to find out what couse that, (see diffrents in app and proces with app manger in safe and normal mode)

Hi!

I had the same problem and just noticed that it was because the Psiloc Screen Saver application had expired (the full version!).
I simply installed the newest version of the program.

I guess it was when the screensaver application was about to kick in that the display was being lit.

Hope it helps.

Cheers
