Hi,
If anyone saw the gadget show on channel 5, it had a review on PTT (push to talk) feature. As far as they knew, it will be avalible everywhere in the UK by the end of this year.

I was under the impression that the calls were free and they only had a certain radius that your could call from. (approx 3km) But i was very wrong!!

You can call up to 50 people at once, anywhere in the world and will cost either a monthly sub or around the price of a text for a call. There is no current tariff in place yet apparently...

If anyone know's different or is using the PTT in the UK could you please repond..

Cheers

PTT or PoC (Push to talk over Cellular) is a packet data service that operates a bit like a group walkie-talkie.

The network operator must support it, before it can be used on a phone.

A PTT/PoC call is not free. You're charged either normal packet data rates, or an operator can choose to use whatever pricing they want.

The advantage is an almost instant connection to all people in the group you want to talk to, and that you're not charged for silence (not talking).
