new nokia 6600 for U.S. T-Mobile?

So it all started last year when I was looking to get a new phone with T-Mobile. It was later December so there were a lot of news about Nokia 6600. Surely I wanted one, but neither T-Mobile nor dealer from which I wanted to buy 6600 knew when it will be available (yeah, right 😊 ). But I needed the phone so I settled for free Samsung. Now that year had passed and I can get a new contract I finally can get 6600, but at this place I stoped by today (T-Mobile store) sales guy told be that T-Mobile is taking off the market current Nokia 6600 to replace it with new one. Now, he did not know any details of what the difference will be between the new one and old one (yeah, right 😊), so what is the difference? An upgrade in firmware? And, should I wait until later march (as he told me) to get "new 6600" or get it know. Did anybody hear about this?

thanks,
webtekie

Yeah man, i heard all the appearent "new" Nokia 6600 are just upgraded firmware.... I dunno if that means they play MP3s as ringtones :con? .... I don't think they do, but they should :top:

yeh i heard that it will be more faster and much faster internet i am sure there must like be better camer and video

...and it's called the 6620!

so the enhancements are...
EDGE :icon14:
MP3s as ringtones :icon14:
2xZoom an camera :icon14:
12MEGs memory :icon14: :icon14:
some software changes (i dont recall what) :icon4:
full pop port at base of fone :icon14:

also, it will not allow for faceplate changes because of above change :frown:

gee...that would be great if any of it was even close to accurate.
1) EDGE on T-Mobile USA?
2) MP3's as ringtones (for all of those who can't make good AMR-WB's use lossless rts)
3) Zoom on camera (ooooh ahhh... minor, get a camera to be a camera)
4) 12MEGs memory (and? Cause the card we put in doesn't do enough. Since there is no active spooler the internal memory is as much junk when you use an external, which most people do; as the storage speed is instantly dropped to the lowest common denominator)
5) software changes: things like readm not working, etc
6) The port is a nice touch
7) the phone is tri-band for cingular/att and not int-tri
