Hello, Is there any way of using the mp3s from the phone (sendo x) as ringtones? Iv tried using a different file manager, copying the tunes into the sounds directory where the other ones are but when i paste them there i look through it and the song i pasted there isnt there! has any body else managed to set there tunes as there ringtone? please dont tell me its not possible as this would be quite a big downer

i look forward to reading all of your responses on this matter

jason

MP3s can't be used as ringtones, they're not a supported ring tone file format in Series 60 1.2.

Convert the files to WAV format, then you will be able to use them as ringtones.

and where do i put them on my phone? i take i use the sendo x software that connects it to my pc?

Using the music convertor at http://www.dbpoweramp.com/ convert them to the following format:
IMA ADPCM
8.000 kHz, 4 bit, mono, 3kb/sec

Then using PC Connect copy them to the phone memory c:/nokia/sounds/digital

Then on the phone select MENU/PROFILES select a profile PERSONALISE/RINGING TONE and select your file.

when I use a mp3 to wav ringtone, on some tones it start with the normal file but continues with the sendo ring which is quite irritating for me, is there any way to prevent this? It can play a 7mb wave file as a ringtone with a few errors in the beginning but it can not play a 1.2mb wave file :frown:

I used to get this with the old firmware. Do you have the newest version?

I don't have the latest one and I resist to update the phone because I dont want to see my contacts listed as Surname Name again after syncronizing with outlook..
