Is there a way to change the default buttons. I don't really care to have the Vodaphone as a defefult button as I am constantly fogetting to lock the keypad and pull phone out to see it browsing some site is annoying.
Changing the default buttons
menu > Tools > Settings > Phone > Standby Mode > etc.
(However, Vodafone may have required and bought phones where this selection is not available or limited; i.e., it has been disabled to some degree. On a non-subsidized/unlocked phone this is not the case.)

No Voda have not disabled this option.
You can pretty much set all directions of the dpad and the two soft keys to any application or feature on the phone.
