Email not sending (even though settings work in Outlook, and send in a P900)

Basically I have 4 emails configured in a 9500, all bar one are working. The account in question will receive messeges but will not send - 'Error - check email settings'. The settings for the account in question all work in Outlook and will send on an Ericsson P900.
SMTP is enabled, and I've even tried using the other SMTP settings which are working... but won't work. Its a Pop3 account.

This is wrecking my head. Anyone any ideas??? Thanks

I assume you are connecting to the internet via the same access point for all 4 mailboxes ??

Sorry if you know what follows ...

If so then you MUST set the outbound (SMTP) server for all the mailboxes as the servername of your providers SMTP server. And the norm is to use port 25 for all SMTP mail.

eg I'm on Orange, but I pick up my mail from Totalise. I connect to the internet via Orange so I have to set my outbound SMTP server as smtp.orange.net I am picking up from totalise, so I set my POP3 server as mail.totalise.co.uk. If I then added a my Virgin POP3 account, this would also have the smtp server set as smtp.orange.net

BUT .. if you are connecting via differnet access points then you will need their smtp server address.

Hope that helps ..

thanks for that advice, it does indeed help. I changed the outgoing smtp server to send.vodafone.net and it worked! However.... there are still 2 in my outbox which refuse to go, even though I've created another email since and sent it on via the same settings....

You will have to edit them then re-send .. they should then 'see' the correct smtp server .. and go !! 😃

Take it easy ..

nice one, thanks for your help...... that's been wrecking my head foe aaaaaaaages. Take it easy
