Just noticed that last night a recieved a sms but where i was downstairs and didn't hear the tone i didn't know of any sms.
The display doesn't have a symbol to let you know you have a sms unless you press a button on the phone,i'm sure my old 6600 showed an symbol on the screensaver display ??
Notify sms
It does show on my 6630 (number of new & unopened messages and the envelope icon just under the date/time bar).
symbian whizz... maybe u got the app error.. app closd ncnlist or app closd system and app closd main.. somethin like that? then also my 7610 doesnt show that a message has been received and doesnt even play a tone.. try upgrading ur firmware if there is a new one available... it might have the bug fixed..
Cheers for the replies , im talking about do you get an envelope icon on the screensaver bars to let you know you have recieved a sms ?? Ihave an unbranded 02 6630 but with firmware v2.39.15
This is a known bug with earlier 6630 firmware versions.
Get in touch with a Nokia service centre and see if they've got the capability to flash the 6630 yet (not many do).
My 6630 without this problem has firmware version 3.45.113.
If you do a search of this forum you'll find several topics discussing this issue. It seems to affect v2.xx firmware.
As a side note, do you know of a list of changes in v3.45.113 on your handset? Mine has v3.45.111 and I've not had any problems aside from the common T9 dictionary corruption/restarting bug, but it would be interesting to see what changes have been made.
My 6630 won't display a "message recieved" window or the envelope as well as no tone!
This is killing me cuz this phone has been flawless for a long time!
I have v. 3.45.113 Firmware, someone please help!
