N-Gage QD - PLEASE HELP! MMC Stuck In!!

3 replies · 2,209 views · Started 08 February 2005

Hi,

My N-Gage QD arrived today and excited, I slotted in my new 1GB MMC.

However, once in it didn't come out. I thought I put it in wrong as it was not being shown up on the phone and after a while of fiddling got it out and tried again.

This time I ensured it went in the right way, but it went in all the way down.

It is being read by the N-Gage now but how do I go about removing it??!

How far are they meant to go in, should it get to a point and not go any futher and still have enough sticking out to remove?

The rubber panel closes for me while the MMC is in, is this right?

Any images how it should look, it looks in slanted?

Is my phone faulty then?

(Also, on a side note, I removed the front fascia and the rubber ring comes lose as well, is this meant to happen? And when I put it back together, will it be fine?)

Most MMC cards have a little indent or groove along the bottom, use this to get it out, it looks slanted because the MMC reader is in that position.

I'd advise you not to take off the front cover, there are no instructions in the manual of how to remove the front cover.

You were right, I realised after I made the post that I was able to prize it out by tugging on the groove with my nail.

You have just confirmed that everyones is like this, thanks...

as for removing the cover, there are many posts on the web with the same worded tutorial.

You remove the battery cover and battery, then push on the two clips at the top - you won't notice a big difference at this stage though (something those tutorials don't tell you 😉)

Then turn it over, and holding the rubber strip tightly on top and bottom from one side, push into the d-pad and one side clicks out, then do the opposite for the numeric pad and it all comes off.

Easier to put back together, just put front cover upside down in front of you, place the d-pad and numeric pad in. Place rubber strip down on that. Then click in the base.

Hey presto... easy!

no probs.

hmmm, ok thnks, i dno if ill do tht. will if i get a scratch tho.
thnks anyway
