Just tap the code *#7370# on "on screen dialler" that's all.

Was this ever resolved ? I'm having the same issue.

"jah - Vicky's solution does not require the use of the dialer! "

But it does require it to start 😉
Mine does not start up all - just the backlight when the charger is in and nothing without it.

When I try and start the phone with the battery, the screen flickers once real fast and is then black as in not on. Holding down the buttons does nothing.

Plemix, where I bought the phone, is sending me a new battery as they believe this may be the cause.

So the question is, can you not start the phone with just the adaptor?

Because currently, when I plug in the adaptor the backlight comes on and thats about it.

or you might try charging the battery on another phone. If battery is at 0 charge, phone will not start. It needs some juice in the battery. Did you try leaving the phone on the charger for sometime?

Yea, I left the charger in for a couple of hours. The whole time is was in the backlight stayed on and that was about it. I'm thinking the power connector is bad.

Hi I know that earlier releases had problems with browsing and crashing, go to your local support centre for free software upgrade. Also check out www.nokia7710.com they have a support centre.
