I've done a search and can't find any answers to this, so I'll ask it here.
I have a PC at home with windows 98 on it, but the software on the cd is for win2000/xp.
Is there a version of PC Suite that will allow me to transfer files to and from my phone using w98? (or any software that i can use on a mac, as that is what I use at work?)
The only other work-around that I could think of would be to get a card-reader and transfer files that way, but I dont wanna do that if I don't have to!

petec33: "Will not load" is not very descriptive. It loads onto my PC with Windows XP SP2 just fine. What happens on your PC (including any and all, exact, error messages)? What version of PC Suite (latest is 6.41.6 on http://www.nokia.com/pcsuite)? Etc. Mind reading is not an exact art yet, and it is especially difficult through a web forum. 😉

I've seen that there is an older version of PC Suite available that will work on 98, does anyone know if you can get even basic file transfers from the 6630 using this?
I think I'll probably end up getting a card reader anyway, and a bigger memory card (on a side note, does anyone know the best place to get a new memory card, and what is the biggest available?)
Old PC Suites, even if installable, do not help with a 6630.
For basic file transfer you don't need PC Suite; Bluetooth support is enough.

How about without blue-tooth? Is there anyway to transfer files using just the data-cable?
Ok the installation runs until it gets to the part where it says :
Registering COM Applications and Components
The windows installer box pops up and then disappears and then pops up again and just keeps going like this as if it is stuck in a loop or something.
I have downloaded the latest version from nokia site and same thing happens....

As I've tried to say:
The new PC Suite does not install on Windows 98.
The older PC Suite versions do not work with the 6630.
If just using Bluetooth isn't an option, then the alternatives are:
- A PC based memory card reader (get one with Win98 support, if you can find one)
- Use email (send/receive files as email attachments).
Yeah, I get that PC Suite is a lost cause.
Just didn't know if you could bluetooth without it, whether you could USB without it too.
Think I'll get myself a card reader. Could email, but it'd cost a fortune!
