soory for my bad english 😞 ,
i think that "people have write 7650's firmware" CAN do a minimal-to-work new firmware in 2 minuts 😊 .
minimal-to-work = No games, no calender, no "music composer", only a secific lenguage (italiano for me 😃 )
OR a new firmware when is possible to erase this "gadget" (ed reinstall via ".sis" file if a user want)
if we send a lot of e-mail to "people who write 7650's firmware" oc collect a lot of sign, i think Nokia make this. or not?
(maybe free, or pay a bit $, but a lot of free memory)
help me,
de-bug this post and rewrite correct, sorry for errors.
So basically you want a stripped down versio on the OS in the phones.
Maybe a pick and choose site where you can order what you want on your phone OS ................oooo thats a good idea! 😃
Kinda like buying a Dell computer.
i thin that Nokia can write a minimal.to.work firmware and relase at Nokia point for "upgrade"
this new software whit the maximum memory free.
no games. no calender. no composer etc etc...
if you want games or calc or converter etc... i think is siple to donload ".sis" file and install.
but only if Nokia people who has witten firmware, make a new lite version.
we will go to NokiaPoint and remove big firmaware wih games etc and have a new lite version with more free ram.
if we send more mail to Nokia.com, maybe Nokia.com will make a new lite firmware.
This would be a good idea, but....
Isn't the user space seperate from the ROM? If they deleted things from the ROM how would you write to it?
To be hosnest I dont think there will be a lite version EVER! However, J2 I think that would be the same thing as removing language files and flashing memory like the one in the other thread! the one with Ximplify etc.
The idea is great.
But, for the current phone hardware it doesn't help. The said softwares are all in the ROM. Therefore, there is no memory gain at all.
