My wireless router has 2 kinds of encryption possible, 64 bit and 128 bit. The 9500 has 40 bits, 104 bits and 232 bits. I have a wap key but it does not work on my home network, I guess that because there is no 64 and 128 bits on the phone. How do I connect to my network?
Encryption
I read somewhere (9500 user guide? can't remember tbh) that 24 bits of the key are actually "standard" and therefore are not required when you connect to your router. The 40 bit key the communicator is asking for is the 64 bit key your router has. The 104 of the communicator is the 128 of your router. And of course 232 is the equivalent of 256.
My access point is configured to accept a 1o digits code and it is configured to use 64 bit encryption. I tried using the 10 digit code in my communicator with both the 40 bits and the 104 bits and the router doesn't accept it. I know they can "talk" because when I am canceling all codes and make it an open network my communicator surfs well and downloads emails. Any ideas?
You wnt 40 bit and hex in the settings.
