PC Suite and Win2000 pro

I have gor new laptop running on win 2000. I cannot connect PCsuite via
Irda, on properties it only gives me options to connect via cable on ports
1-4. Any idea???

Have a look in Device Manager - you will have a Virtual Com port (This is your IR port). Probably set to Com4. Use this in PC suite - just ignore the fact that PC Suite says cable.

I have had the same problem with my new laptop last week (now resolved), you must first download and install the patch of win2000 - see the link in the installation panel of PC suite -after installation, you have a small icon in the right - lower corner of the windows - clic on it to detect the phone (it must be near the irda with infrared activated)

normally, that's all.

What patch? Do you have it? Can you send it to me [email protected] ?
I couldn`t find any link in pc suite... Trick with COM4 doesn`t work either 😞

When you install PC suite, the will be an icon in START | Programs | Pc Suite, called install IRDa drivers for Win2000. Install this and it should give you the virtual COM port in Device Manager - then my original post should work
