Makayama Software have just released their Mobile Media Maker application with support for the Nokia 9300 and 9500 Communicator. The Mobile Media Maker features an application for video playback on your Communicator as well as an easy to use PC converter with support for most formats, and even lets you rip straight from DVD.

I would just like to add that I've tested this app with a few clips, and can say without a doubt that it is MUCH better than SmartMovie in terms of both video and audio playback quality.
That's some good news! I'll give it a go!
I just tried it, no luck. The PC app gives me an error when I start it (I'm missing COMDLG32.OCX or something like that). Anyone else with such a problem?
I tried the demo version for the N gage. Can't say I am at all impressed, seem very buggy. For starters it wouldn't recognise DVD files without lots of poking around. Second sound quailiy of music is awful. Thirdly if the sound quality is adjusted to "better" then the file isn't saved.
Don't think I'll be bothering to fork out for the full version."
Tried it on my 9500 and it seems to be working ok. The problem is the picture and sound quality. Still a lot to improve, before I would consider buying it.

delta, i think that file is very commonly missing in alot of these programs these days.. google for it and i think u will find it. then try to perhaps run the application?
Thanks! I found it, and it works now!
glad it works for u now. so what ur thoughts now on the program and the video and audio quality and SIZE of the video it compresses? is it worth shifting from smartmovie to this on my 7610?
All
I downloaded this and tried to installed it on my PC (I noticed a small note saying Winamp9 is required on the PC?), but then when I tried to run it I had missing dll file error.
Closer inspection of the website shows the PC program is for Windows XP only!
No 2k or 98 version offered by the looks of it.....

I Cant try to play the demo. it says MEDIA NOT SUPPORTED.
what seems to be the problem?
For some reason the demos don't work. You have to encode a clip yourself to try the player, using the bundled PC converter.

That sounds kind of silly, the demos not working 🙄
I tried converting one file, for both my 9500 and 7710. I don't know if it was because of the file or because I'm still using the trial, but both didn't end up the way they should. The 9500 file played back very jurkey (especially the sound), the 7710 file was completely messed up, just some weird lines with strange colors....
