i bought a 256mb rsmmc for my 6670. i backed it up and then reformatted it. now i have stuff on my 256mb and i want to add the backed up stuff onto it, is that possible? when i do a restore, will the stuff just add or it will erase the current data on the card?
restore backed up data without deleting current data
hey yo! *warning this is not a confirmed answer to your question...
but when u use nokia pc suite to backup your files, its basic operation should be copy only.... becoz everytime i back up my phones, it fails to COPY a file named "Contacts.cdb". --> anyone knows why? my guess is it's in use by phone or sth.
i suggest u try to backup a copy of your new phone contents.
then u try to restore your old backup file.... worth trying ?? no loss.

I also got this problem "it fails to COPY a file named "Contacts.cdb"". May be the phone is accessing the phonebook.
I use Contact Manager to save my phone list into my mmc card. Can be restore anytime.
is Contact Manager an app for the phone or the pc? where did u get it from? i also have the above problem not copying the Contacts.cdb
kkboy, can u post the contact manager up on this board? or tell us where to get it???
hmmm interesting i cant copy the contacts.cbd file out till this date
To answer your original question - you will just have to try. Take a backup of your current data on the mmc using a card reader. Then use pc suite to restore and see what happens. My guess is that wherever files are same name, it will overwrite. I do not think it may erase existing data. So hopefully you will get back old+new, except where there is some overlap, e.g. contacts.cdb. PC Suite also allows you to select what you want to restore. If you are not happy with the result, copy over the backed up data back to the mmc and resume from current.
