.3gp and .mp4 ringtones

I'm sure I read somewhere that vodafone have restricted .mp3s for ringtones.

Does anyone know if .3gp and .mp4 are restricted also, I've tried downloading them to my phone but they just appear as garbled rubbish in the notes editor!?

Are they downloadable, or is there another way I have to get them onto my phone?

Try creating a .3g2 file. That should work. There's a thread in here with a bunch of software suggestions. A search for 3g2 should uncover it.

I've sussed it out. Turns out I needed to add another line into my .htaccess file on the web so it would recognise the files! (and I think i meant .m4a, rather than .mp4)
