Bluetooth headset compatibility

Hello all,

I own a 9300 and my boss owns a 9500.

He has a sony ericcson hbh-30 bluetooth headset and we have been trying to get it to work with his 9500. We cant get it to work, we have paired it with the phone. But when it comes to answering calls or making calls it does not do anything. We have set the enhancement section for headsets but it does not seem to work. Is there something we are not doing or are s/erisccson sets not compatible with nokia.

any help would be appreciated

thanks andy fleming.

Make sure that the headset you are trying to pair supports the HANDSFREE profile, because the communicators don't have support for HEADSET profile. I was trying to use my BT200 w/ my 9300, and although it would pair, nothing would happen. I got the BT250 (which supports both handsfree and headset) and it works well.

However, one thing I dislike about the handsfree implementation for bluetooth headsets is that the connection is always on, meaning that any sound the phone makes is transferred to the headset - i.e. keypresses, etc. One can disable keypress sounds, but I have read elsewhere that the always on nature of the connection seems to drain the headset battery faster. It is also curious why nokia does not implement voice-dialing in the communicator, especially considering the size of the phone.

my BT 200 works fine with my 9500... i have no problems.... however i just bought Bluespoon AX to replace the BT200...

In Nokia phones the Bluetooth Headset have to be connected to the phone all the time... once you pair the device to the phone please press the answer button on the Headset to connect to the phone after you see the headset logo on the 9500 desktop/cover you will be able to receive the calls on the headset...

hope this helps...
