Device model plug-ins

Hi there,

I'm quite new in creating theme and at the moment I'm messing around with Theme Studio.
My idea is to modify all the icons in this folder
C:\Program Files\Theme Studio\data\skinsdir\BaseGraphics
So when I create a new theme using the template, I don't have to change them again.
Now, this is a bit of a pain, because all the icons, even the smaller ones, are a bit crappy and I have to change them all, incluiding the masks.
I've been reading the manual and it says that you can import device model plug-ins to obtain diferent base graphics.
I've been looking for this and haven't been able to find anything about it.

Does anyone know where to find these plug-ins for different models?
I'd appreciate it, don't wanna end up blind editing icons 😃

Thanks

Hi there,
there are no plug-ins at the moment, since all s60 devices have the same layout at the moment. But this will maybe change in the future with the scalable User Interface. But right now, this feature is useless.

And changing the basegraphics won't help you at all. These images are only used to emulate the default look in the studio preview. None of those images are actually used in the theme. They just represent the default look of the device. Only graphics, that are changed and appear in the themes own skinsdir folder will be included when the SIS file is created. So what you really need is an new theme in which you opened and resaved all objects you need. You could then use this theme as your template via the "Save as" command. Or you could copy and renam the skinsdir folder of your template theme and change the objects you like in your new folder. But be carefull, you should save the template folder to a differnt location, since the theme studio doesn't like two TDF files to have the same name.

Thanks for the clarification Katolino.
Yeah I realised that even if I change the icons in the baseskin folder, it doesn't affect the new theme...
I'll do that the, I'll use a template that I create and then save as...

Thanks
