irreversible action on message memory

hi all, thanks in advance for help.

okay, i have a 6670, so i played around with messaging settings.
earlier i switched my message storage from phone memory to mmc under:
messaging>options>settings>others>

it prompts me if i wanan copy my messages from phone to mmc to free up space. YES i did. all worked fine as per normal after that.

then, just now i tried to change from mmc back to phone memory.
just when the phone prompts me if i wanna copy message from mmc to phone, i decided not to and pressed no. therefore, result is memory changed to phone, and contents are not copied.

this is not what i want. so i tried changing back to mmc, HOWEVER, the phone no longer prompts me if i wanna copy the contents from memory to phone or vice versa.

anyone know how to make that prompt question appear again???

hello all... 6670 user i am
anyone who experience the same problem as i described above... i have just found a manual remedy for it.... follow these steps.

i am assuming u want to transfer the whole of your system/mail folder from MMC to PHONE. i suppose it will work vice versa :>. i will keep my messages in phone memory, since i think it can be accessed faster this way.

0. MAKE SURE U HAVE NO WANTED MESSAGES IN PHONE MEMORY, AS THIS METHOD WILL MOST LIKELY OVERWIRTE FOLDERS AND FILES. THUS THH IMPORTANCE OF STEP 1., WHICH HAPPENED TO ME. [last minute insert]

1. try to make sure u have no incoming sms for the entire process to be safe
2. make sure your current message memory is set to mmc
3. launch a file explorer on your phone, eg seleq, fileman, fexplorer etc.
4. go to C:\System\Mail
5. Delete the file 'Index'
6. go to messaging>settings>others>memory>
7. as per normal, select phone memory.
8. it will seem like it hang, but its actually taking some time to figure out 'hey the index is gone, lets copy everything from the mmc'
9. be patient
10. and voila, b4 u know it, the 6670 is doing some magic copying all messages from mmc to phone...

OKAY, i am proud to post this shit. well, hope this helps to all out there.

LASTLY, IF U ARE PLAYING AROUND WITH THE MESSAGING MEMORY, PLEASE CLICK YES WHEN U ARE PROMPTED, OTHERWISE THE FEATURE MAY BE GONE. MAYBE IF U FORMAT AND RESET FACTORY SETTINGS IT MAY WORK AGAIN, BUT I'M NOT GONNA TRY IT, YET.
