Nokia 6630 Unlock Code saga

hi all. yes this is an old thread but has any body worked out how to unlock this phone if it is on 3 Network.? The handset came out almost two years ago!. i have been to my nokia specialist and they cant unlock it and other shops can not either. thanks

dude having a N6630 is a gud thing but "it" being on vodafone is a really pain on you know where... i had a friend that has the same phone he bought it in japan and man up to know he cant use his phone... rumor says that if you want to use your vodafone units you'll have to completely replace the motherboard bec of some specs...

Seems that there is a small light at the end of the 6630 tunnel. Apparently T-Mobile users have managed to get codes for their phones, even for a nominal fee :tongue: .. It also seems that Vodafone starts promising others that they will eventually receive a code for their lovely nokias too. So what's the story with orange? Visited an Orange shop a few weeks ago and I was blatenly told that 'we (orange) do not unlock phones, u should visit a,b or c shop, they will do it for u'. Of course none of these shops was able to help me because noone has managed to work out that 'evil' reverse engineering on them yet. Went through the terms and conditions of my orange booklet and i realised that there was no mentioning that orange retains the right to lock devices, furthermore to refuse unlocking them. Does Orange really have the right to do that? So where does this leave me at? notely, I am a pay-as-you-go user, which should not make any difference anyway, have been on orange for some good 4 years now. To complicate things a bit more (yes, i just love dont I?) I dont even live in the UK anymore, finished my MSc and it was time for me to go back home.. to Greece! Anyways, I love this phone, I really hate the idea of dropping it off an 8-floor block of flats just to see it turning into hundreds of tiny useless pieces so I would greatly appreciate any advice to my issues.. P.S does anyone know whether flashing the phone would solve the problem? Has anyone actually done that? Thanx in advance peeps, all comments are very much appreciated..
