How do I create masks with gradients?

Hello everyone,

I'd like to know how to create masks with a gradient.
For example, I'm using the "surf" theme to play around and get to know Theme Studio better.
I've noticed that the masks for the icons on this theme have like a shadow.

The thing is, how do I do that? If I use the wand (mask) the selection border is plain so if the icon I wanna use has a little bit of shadow, then it looks a bit crappy.

See example of this mask:

If anyone would tell me how they do, that'd be really cool 😃

Thanks

Just use the 'Drop Shadow' option in your paint program.

Make the white section transparent by using the background eraser and then press drop shadow, select the shadow colour (black) and then the amount and angle of the shadow. After this just copy and paste your image onto a white area of the same size, bingo. 😊
