I connect my 7650 to PC Suite using a USB IR adaptor.
Whenever my firewall is turned on, there is some kind of error generated by mRouter when i try to connect my phone to my PC. This was not a problem with the previous versions of McAfee firewall, however, with the new version 4.0 (I think it comes with virusscan 7), even when the firewall is turned off, it seems to be running in the background and I get the same problem. I have since un-installed firewall 4.0, am wondering if it's woth the bother of installing the old version and turning it off everytime i want to sync my phone to my pc.
Has anybody else experienced the same problem and do you know any workarounds?
im using ma-600 (infrared on serail cable) i havnt try installing firewall at my mcafee professional 7, i to have the same problem with yours when i sync my phone to microsoft outlook xp, i tried to go to configure automatic protection settings, uncheck this 3 check box:
-enable microsoft outlook e-mail scanning
-enable hawk for email
-enable hawk script stopper
just try to a trial and error stage and this may solve your problem =o)
Oh the virusscan part doesnt give me any problems, it's the firewall that does. In the old version of firewall, i could just stop the firewall and sync, but with the new version (4) even when I stop the firewall, it still causes problem with the syncing. Am using win2k though, cos PC Suite doesn't seem to like to work on my WinXP setup.
